Meet your dentist
Compassionate care from Dr. James Lohr
Dr. James Lohr grew up in Salisbury, North Carolina—just a little over an hour from Madison. From a young age, he knew dentistry would combine his passions: working with his hands, connecting with others, and making a real difference in people’s lives. Today, he’s honored to serve the very kind of community he grew up in with dedicated, patient-first care built on trust, simplicity, and genuine relationships.
Dr. Lohr earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Catawba College. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. From the beginning of his career, Dr. Lohr has been committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality dental care grounded in both science and service.
A proud member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Lohr is currently pursuing Fellowship in the AGD—an achievement that requires hundreds of hours of continuing education across multiple specialties of dentistry, including restorative, preventive, cosmetic, and comprehensive care. This advanced training allows him to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry and offer patients thoughtful, well-rounded treatment options. In addition, Dr. Lohr is trained in Invisalign therapy, further expanding his ability to provide personalized solutions focused on long-term oral health and confident smiles.
What sets Dr. Lohr apart is his belief that dentistry should be a personal experience. He strives to offer care that is high-quality, not high-pressure, and values taking time to listen as much as he values delivering excellent results. His favorite part of dentistry is working with patients to rebuild their health and confidence—one step and one smile at a time.
Outside the office, Dr. Lohr enjoys spending time with his fiancée, his family, and his friends. He loves staying active through golf, the gym, and outdoor adventures. A self-proclaimed lifelong learner, he enjoys reading and is always looking for ways to grow in both his personal life and his dental knowledge. Oh—and he’s a proud Packers fan, win or lose!
